Commercial Lawyer (Property)
Job Summary
EVC are looking to add a new member to its growing commercial team, based out of our headquarters in Crawley, West Sussex.
As a commercial & property lawyer at EVC you will assist with the provision of first class legal services, by providing expert legal advice and assistance to EVC’s Clients, Sales and Commercial departments. You will be responsible for assisting our external legal representatives, and the wider internal team on a variety of property transactions.
This role would suit a solicitor with extensive experience in conveyancing and property law, who wishes to progress and expand their legal career within a sustainable field, in a fast-growing industry.
Duties and responsibilities
- Drafting, reviewing, and negotiating leases, non-disclosure agreements, SLAs, and other commercial contracts (e.g. supplier framework agreements, exclusivity agreements, supplier contracts)
- Regularly attending meetings both online and in-person, with clients and contractors, to discuss and negotiate terms
- Pro-actively maintaining, tracking, and reporting on progress of deals in legal stages
- Working closely with EVC's external legal representatives and the wider internal team to progress transactions
- Liaising with landowners and operations department to exchange on contracts in-line with installations
- Post-completion formalities, including Land Registry registrations
- Researching and reporting to the board on legal and regulatory updates and developments
- Version controlling legal documentation, checking, and finalizing all documentation prior to signing
Skills and experience
- A minimum of 3 years experience working on property and real estate transactions
- Proven track record of developing and maintaining good client and commercial relationships to effectively liaise with and negotiate contract terms.
- Ability to produce documents efficiently and with ease
- Drive, commitment, and desire to learn and progress in a fast-paced changing industry
- Ability to manage information and coordinate multiple projects simultaneously
- First class communication skills, both written and verbal
